Washington Council of the Blind (WCB)
Member Equipment Loan Fund

Loan Facts

  • Loans range from $250 to $10,000
  • The interest rate is 0% WCB members in good standing
  • Loan terms can range up to 5 years depending on the expected life of the assistive technology purchased
  • Examples of equipment you can purchase with WCB loans include: computers and adaptive software (Jaws, WindowEyes, ZoomText, scanning software, etc.), Braille displays and enlarged monitors, reading machines, scanners and closed circuit TV’s; mobility aids; magnifiers; and medical equipment (talking scales, blood pressure monitors, diabetes testing equipment, etc.).

Eligibility

  • You must have been a member of WCB for at least six months prior to your date of application.
  • You must have no other WCB loans in default.

Confidentiality

In order to maintain confidentiality, once your application has been submitted, your primary point of contact will be through the Access Fund. As necessary, WATF will communicate pertinent information to, and receive needed assistance from, the WCB President throughout the loan process.
