About WATF

What is WATF?
The Washington Assistive Technology Foundation ("WATF") is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit, Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) dedicated to improving the socio-economic circumstances of people with disabilities through access to technology. The Washington Assistive Technology Foundation (WATF) provides low-interest loans to help Washington residents with disabilities obtain the technologies and business equipment they need to live independently and to succeed at school, at work, at play and in the community.

Our Mission
Our mission is to improve the socioeconomic circumstances of people with disabilities by providing affordable credit and learning opportunities for assistive technology and small business.

What does WATF do?
WATF provides low-interest loans for:

• Assistive technology and home and vehicle access modifications ("Assistive Technology Loans") and
• Equipment needed by employees and entrepreneurs with disabilities who choose to work from home or other "Telework" locations on a full or part-time basis ("Telework Loans").

History
The Washington Assistive Technology Foundation ("WATF") was created under the leadership of the Washington Assistive Technology Alliance (WATA) to help individuals with disabilities in Washington State obtain the assistive technologies they need for education, employment and independent living.

The Foundation is a non-profit organization under the laws of the state of Washington and section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code meaning that donations to it are tax deductible. Our tax ID Number is: 91-2094889.  WATF is also a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI)
